Northern Army Commander visits Surankote sector, reviews security situation

Jammu, Sep 1: Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Army Commander of Northern Command, Friday undertook a visit to the forward areas in the Surankote sector. During his visit, Lt Gen Dwivedi received a comprehensive briefing on various aspects, including operational preparedness, the prevailing security situation, and the augmentation of operational capability in the region.
“Lt Gen Dwivedi, while interacting with the troops, highlighted the paramount importance of maintaining the highest state of readiness to effectively handle any potential contingencies. The Army Commander specifically emphasized the need for vigilance and dedicated efforts to secure the nation’s borders and ensure its territorial integrity,” army said in a statement.
With the primary objective of safeguarding national security in mind, Lt Gen Dwivedi urged the troops to remain resolute and committed in their duties. He acknowledged their immense contribution to maintaining peace and stability in the region and expressed his appreciation for their unwavering dedication and service.
“The visit of the Army Commander holds immense significance as it not only boosts the morale of the troops but also underscores the continuous focus on enhancing operational capabilities. By personally reviewing the operational preparedness and security situation at the forward areas, Lt Gen Dwivedi reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the borders,” the statement reads.
“Lt Gen Dwivedi’s visit to the forward areas in Surankote Sector served as a testament to the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders. The Army Commander’s briefing on operational preparedness and augmentation of operational capability, coupled with his emphasis on maintaining the highest state of readiness, underscored the importance of vigilance and dedication in meeting any potential contingencies. This visit served as a motivating factor for the troops, reiterating their contribution towards maintaining peace and stability in the region while reinforcing the Indian Army’s resolve to protect the country’s territorial integrity,” the statement added.
