While there has been no let up in the road accidents, the youngsters continue to indulge in bike stunts, thus simultaneously endangering their lives, which could shatter the dreams of their respective families. It has been observed that the bike riders, especially youngsters don’t obey any guidelines and usually could be seen riding the two-wheelers without crash helmets and also indulging in rash driving. However, the authorities seem reluctant to continue with the drive against these norm violators as the action was taken for a day only, which is not enough to put an end to the norm violations on the roads and also save the precious lives. The roads have consumed many lives so far while most of the deaths have occurred due to rash driving or driving without crash helmets, which needs to be reduced at an earliest. The time has come when the concerned department as well as the Traffic Police need to swing into action and ensure that all those who are involved in norm violations are taken to the task. The road safety week will bear fruits only after the government will take appropriate measures to ensure there is no norm violation and also the signals and other related things are followed in letter and spirit. The parents should also play their role by ensuring that their underage children are not allowed to drive in any circumstances so that the number of fatal accidents could be reduced at an earliest.
