Jammu, Sep 5: Indian Air Force (IAF) is all set to enthrall people with maneuvering of fighter aircrafts like Sukhoi, Rafale and war-helicopters like Apache with jet speed near Western Border in Jammu on September 21.
Sources said that the Indian Air Force (IAF) hosted a first of its kind air-show in Jammu on September 21 as part of its 91st anniversary on October 8, 2023.
Sources said that around two dozen fighter planes and choppers will show their skills by playing tricks in the sky. Some of these aircraft are going to fly from different air Bases in the North like Ambala, Jallander, Chandigarh and reach Jammu to bang the skies near the Pakistan Border.
This is the first time such an event is going to be held in Jammu. Special arrangements will be made by district administration for those watching this air show.
Sky-diving will be an added attraction at the air show. Sources said that military personnel will jump from a plane with parachutes. With clear skies, it’s a sight never to be forgotten. This is the first time that Jammu will be able to see an air show and sky diving on such a large scale simultaneously.
Sources said that IAF is looking forward to greeting and enthralling the local populace with its exciting range of aerobatic performances in Jammu. The previous edition of the Air Force Day Parade was held at Bhopal, with the flypast being conducted over the Sukhna Lake there.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired a meeting to discuss the arrangements for the event. He said that the Airshow would be a spectacular occasion for children, youth, and all local citizens. He urged the stakeholders to ensure that the event is a success and is widely publicised to encourage maximum public participation. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (L&O), Harvinder Singh; AOC Airforce Jammu, SSP Jammu, Joint Director Information Jammu, Atul Gupta besides, other officers of concerned department.
