Shopian, Sep 5: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday handed over appointment letters to the nearest relatives of three civilians killed in Amshipora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district in July 2020.
The Lt Governor handed over the appointment letters on compassionate grounds to Shareen Akhter, wife of Mohd Abrar, a resident of Tarkassi, Kotranka, Rajouri; Mohd Arif, brother of Mohd Imtiyaz, a resident of Dhar Sakri Kotranka, Rajouri and Farayaz Ahmed, brother of Mohd Abrar of Kotranka Rajouri.
The family members of the trio thanked the Lt Governor for the compensation and job. They demanded strict against the two persons involved in the incident.
Javid Ahmad, brother of Abrar Ahmad, said that they are thankful to the government for the compensation and job. He, however, alleged that the two persons involved in the killing were not produced before the court. “They must be produced and action must be taken against them,” he said.
The LG also handed over the appointment letter under SRO-43 to Neeta Devi, widow of Chager Kumar of Dhandal, Ramnagar Udhampur who was killed in an IED blast in Udhampur in 2022.
Sinha interacted with the family members of the deceased civilians and assured all possible assistance by the administration in the future.
ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar were also present on the occasion.
