New Delhi, Sep 6: Holding that National Conference is entitled to the symbol of “plough”, the Supreme Court on Wednesday set aside election for Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil and directed administration to issue fresh notification for the polls within seven days.
The Supreme Court today set aside the election for Hill Council Kargil scheduled on September 10 and directed UT’s administration to issue a fresh notification for the electoral exercise within seven days.
The SC held that the National Conference is entitled to the symbol of “plough” for the election. It also imposed a penalty of Rs one lakh on Ladakh administration for filing the plea. (KNO)
