Srinagar, Sep 11: Thousands of devotees on Monday converged at the revered Hazrat Sultan ul Arifeen Makhdoom Sahab (RA), shrine in Srinagar to pay their heartfelt obeisance and participate in the special prayers.
The shrine, dedicated to the revered saint Makhdoom Sahab (RA), witnessed a remarkable gathering of devotees from various corners of the region.
During the 13-day period, the special prayers were held throughout the day followed by nightlong prayers on Sunday.
Thousands of worshippers from across the valley gathered at the shrine yesterday to participate in the nightlong prayers in honor of today’s annual Urs at Hazrat Sultan Ul Arifeen Makhdoom Sahab Shrine (RA) in Srinagar.
The devotees paid their respects to the revered saint, Hazrat Sultan Ul Arifeen Makhdoom Sahab Monday.
Devotees thronged the shrine premises in large numbers to offer prayers and seek blessings from Almighty. The atmosphere was charged with religious fervor as men, women, and children fervently recited prayers, expressing their deep reverence for the revered saint.
Authorities at the shrine ensured the smooth conduct of the Urs, providing essential services and maintaining order.
Thousands of people who had gathered departed with hearts filled with devotion and a renewed sense of faith, promising to return next year to celebrate this special day.
“This gathering at Hazrat Sultan Ul Arifeen Makhdoom Sahab (RA) Shrine is a testament to our shared faith and the unity that binds us. It’s a beautiful sight to see people from all walks of life coming together to pay homage to the saint,” said Riyaz Ahmad, a local from Khanyar Srinagar.
“It’s a time when we pray for peace and prosperity in the region,” said Fatima Khan, another local resident from Gojwara Srinagar.
