Bandipora, Sep 12: Residents of several villages in Bandipora are facing massive ordeal as most of the roads are in a dilapidated condition.
Residents of Gunddachina, Chittetbandy, and Aragam areas of Bandipora are up in arms against the district administration for failing to repair the Gunddachina-Aragam road, subjecting the residents of a dozen villages to extreme hardships due to the dilapidated condition of the road.
The locals say that the three kilometre stretch of road from Gunddachina to Aragam is in shambles and dotted with potholes. The road also leads to several far-flung areas of Bandipora.
Locals say the distance that can be covered in minutes is covered in more than an hour.
Gowher, a resident of Brar, says that they are suffering due to the indifferent attitude of the Roads and Buildings department towards the village.
Mudasir Ahmad, a local of the Chitteybandy area of Bandipora said the condition of the road from Gunddachina to Aragam is in a deplorable condition, and it is painful for them to carry patients.
Locals urge authorities to look into the matter and macadamize the roads at the earliest. (KNO)
