CBC organises one day outreach program at GDC Pampore

Rutting season for Hangul begins

Pulwama, Sep 13: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India on Wednesday organised an outreach program at Government Degree College,Pampore in Pulwama district .
The program was organised on the theme of 9 Years: Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan by CBC’s Field Office, Anantnag to showcase India’s matchless achievements in different fields during the last nine years. Information about various public welfare schemes of the government, especially those for youth, was shared with the people through informative standees, expert lectures and printed awareness material.
Prof.(Dr ) Huda Galzai, Principal GDC, Pampore presided over the proceedings. In her presidential address Dr. Galzai appreciated the CBC for reaching out to the people especially the youth. She exhorted the students to play a proactive role in the development of the community. She stressed on the need to spread awareness about the public welfare schemes among masses for their successful implementation.
Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC in his welcome address gave a detailed overview about the mandate and activities of CBC and briefed the audience about the programme. Talking about welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat, PMGKAY, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Mudra Yojana and PM’s Scholarship schemes for students, Sh. Lone said the schemes have changed the lives of people across India. He said that awareness about these public welfare schemes is of key importance for upliftment of poor and marginalised communities.
He thanked the college administration and students for the support and coordination in successful organisation of the program. Earlier an open quiz competition was organised for the students and the winners were awarded prizes and commendation certificates by CBC.
Others who addressed the gathering included Prof. Alam Ara Shah, NSS Coordinator, Prof Ashiq Hussain and Sikander, FPA CBC, Srinagar. Also present on the occasion were Neeraj, FPA Srinagar and Khazir Mohammad from CBC FO Srinagar.
