In the era of competition, most children are being compelled to follow the rules and regulations in studies and other related things, which simultaneously affects the mental health of the children. According to new research, young children who frequently experience harsh discipline from their parents are much more likely to experience long-lasting mental health issues. Researchers from the Universities of Cambridge and Dublin discovered that children exposed to “hostile” parenting at age three were 1.5 times more likely than their peers to have mental health symptoms that met the criteria for “high risk” by age nine than their counterparts. These figures are testimony to the fact that putting pressure on the children could certainly affect the mental health of the children, which is a grave concern for one and all. It is time when the parents and guardians need to understand the situation and ensure some relief to the children and ensure there is no burden of any kind to them. Discipline among the children is one of the vital things for everyone, but at the same time there is a need to ensure the mental health of the children as well. Therefore, strict discipline must be avoided and the parents need to guide their kids politely to put an end to the pressure on them. The health experts should also organize awareness programmes in this regard to make people aware about the do’s and don’ts so that the mental health of the children is not affected in any way.
