The government has been doing well in ensuring transparency in the system by taking several measures and even cancelled all the recent recruitment processes with an aim to ensure there is no loophole in the recruitment of educated youth and ensuring only deserved candidates are given a chance to serve the people. After cancelling the recruitment drives, the government has taken strict action against those involved in the scam. The cancellation of recruitment drives might have disappointed the young minds, but at the same time, it has brought respite to them in terms of having a transparent recruitment process in the future. However, the government’s fresh announcement regarding the filling of vacant posts has brought smiles on the faces of the educated youth, who are aspiring to serve the people in different departments. The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has stated that all the vacant posts in various government departments will be filled in the next six months through a “major recruitment drive.” He has mentioned that the poor man’s child also has a right to become an officer. At this juncture, there is a need to keep close vigil on the activities with regard to the recruitment drives so that there are no loopholes and the deserved candidates are selected without any discrimination. The government needs to ensure that the recruiting agency will not indulge in anything that could create apprehensions among the aspirants. The new recruitment drive should serve as an example to the whole nation that everyone is equal and there is no room for the discrimination and corruption in Jammu & Kashmir.
