Fire renders four families homeless in Bandipora

Bandipora, Oct 4: Four families were rendered homeless after a devastating fire incident turned three residential houses into ashes in the Quil area of Bandipora district on Tuesday night.
An official said that fire broke out in a residential house belonging to Imran and Irfan son of Mohammad Maqbool and damaged houses of Nazir Ahmad and Ashiq Hussain son of Sonaullah of Quil.
Although no casualties were reported in the incident, three double-storied residential houses got completely damaged, he said.
The official added 15 sheep, three cows were charred to death in the incident.
He said that till the fire was brought under control four families were rendered homeless and property worth lakhs got perished.
A police official said that they have taken cognizance of the matter and the cause of fire is being ascertained.
Locals appealed to the district administration to provide compensation to the affected family.
Earlier two incidents of overnight fire were reported in Kaloosa and Watrina areas of Bandipora district.
