Srinagar, Oct 5: To equip pre-final and final semester management students, spanning both the main and satellite campuses, with the necessary insights and skills to excel in their future careers, the Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC), Kashmir University (KU) Wednesday organised an online career counselling and placement guidance session here.
In her message, Prof Nilofer Khan said that CCPC has consistently demonstrated a commitment to nurture the aspiring students’ professional growth and development.
“Such efforts are instrumental in shaping the future of our students, and we look forward to continued collaborations that benefit our academic community,” she added.
Career counsellor and the founder of ‘Ways to Success’, Deepika Unni took the helm as the guiding force behind the enlightening session. With nearly three decades of corporate experience encompassing roles in India, Dubai and Germany, she shared her expertise across domains.
During the session, Deepika Unni delved into a comprehensive overview of campus placements, emphasising the pivotal role of soft skills and offering guidance on CV preparation, appropriate attire and interview readiness.
Director, CCPC, Prof Geer Mohammad Ishaq underscored the importance of conducting similar sessions for students across all university departments. He emphasised the importance of preparing students to navigate the dynamic job market and corporate landscape, aiming to foster their development in essential areas such as work ethics, interpersonal skills, leadership and communication abilities.
“The ultimate goal is to empower our students to thrive in campus recruitment drives and beyond,” he said while stressing the need for greater collaboration among the satellite campuses to facilitate such initiatives.
The online session was coordinated by a dedicated team of faculty members, including Dr. Umar Farooq and Dr. Maleeha Gul from North Campus, Baramulla; Dr. Irfana Baba and Dr. Ashiq from South Campus, Anantnag; and Dr. Mohammad Ayub from the Management Studies department of the main campus.
The CCPC plans to offer advanced career and placement guidance through one-on-one interactions, tailoring its support to students’ individual interests and aspirations.
KU is committed to nurturing the potential of its students and preparing them for success in the competitive world of employment. Sessions like these exemplify the institution’s dedication to its mission.
