Srinagar, Oct 7: National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Saturday presided over a meeting of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Telecom Advisory committee meeting. MP Anantnag Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi was also present in the meeting.
The MPs assured full support and their intervention in getting the needful done for removing the administrative bottlenecks from the J&K Government by using their good offices, a statement issued reads.
On the occasion, Dr. Farooq Abdullah echoed the woes of the consumers and impressed upon the department to ensure efficacy in their outreach.
“The public sector undertaking lags behind in terms of its reach out and quality of service. On the contrary the market share of the private telecom companies is increasing day by day, their services are better and their reach and service is far ahead of BSNL. The subscriber base of these private players is also far ahead of BSNL. Unfortunately BSNL had not been able to catch up with these private players,” he said.
