Srinagar, Oct 7: Srinagar’s famous food street, Khayam is craving for attention, as the dilapidated condition of roads is giving tough times to the commuters from a long time now.
In the heart of Srinagar, the famous food street “Khayam,” that has delighted locals and visitors alike for decades, finds itself in a state of longing, as repeated pleas for attention have seemingly fallen on deaf ears.
This area, known for its delectable array of traditional Kashmiri dishes and street food delights, now faces neglect and a pressing need for urgent repair of road conditions.
The shopkeepers of the area, said this food street has been a source of livelihood for generations in their family.
However, the commuters visiting the place are presently facing difficulties as the road leading to the area is in shambles.
“Khayam has been the heart of our culinary heritage, but it’s heartbreaking to see it in such disrepair. Our cuisine is our identity, and Khayam has been our showcase to the world. It’s time to restore its glory, and the condition of road needs to be repaired urgently,” added Manzoor Ahmed another shopkeeper.
