Srinagar, Oct 17: A woman’s body was found in mysterious condition in Srinagar’s Bemina with family charging her husband for the murder.
The body of the deceased identified as Tanveera wife of Showkat Ahmad Kaloo of Nundresh Colony Bemina was spotted in Durbal area early morning.
As the news of Tanveera’s death spread, a pall of gloom surrounded the area with locals and family alleging Tanveera was murdered by her husband.
The family members of the deceased said that the relationship between Tanveera and her husband was strained for long.
“She left behind a small 4-year-old daughter. This tragedy occurred due to her husband,” they said.
They said Tanveera left her home for a court on Monday around 2 pm and didn’t return since then. Her phone was switched off they added. In the morning, her husband came to them and showed a photograph of her lifeless body, they said.
“It’s a pre-planned murder. A rope was tied around her neck. It’s a murder and she has been killed by her husband,” alleged the brother of Tanveera, Parvaiz Ahmad.
“Our daughter had been married for the last 14 years, and her husband used to beat her on a daily basis, her brother alleged,”
“We approached the police many times because she was injured numerous times due to the harsh beatings. Today her husband crossed all the limits and killed my sister,” her brother said and urged Police to conduct a thorough probe.
Officials said that a formal FIR has been registered and investigation is underway.
