Women bring laurels

In yet another instance of boosting the morale of women achievers, the government organized a felicitation ceremony wherein many women achievers were felicitated. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha felicitated the women achievers who have carved a niche for themselves and inspiring other women to dream and accomplish new heights of success in various fields. During the past few years, the government has placed women empowerment at the forefront of its development agenda in Jammu and Kashmir, which was otherwise nowhere in sight. The government provided platforms to the women and also assisted them through different schemes, which helped them to touch the sky and prove themselves within the society. The administration has been proactive in prioritizing women’s rights and equal opportunities, in accordance with the principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution. This deliberate focus on women empowerment has led to positive changes that are both empowering and promising for the region.” The principles of equality, equal rights, and equal opportunities are central to the Constitution of India, and J&K’s dedication to upholding these values is evident in the various initiatives it has undertaken. The women in J&K have been actively involved in local governance through Panchayats and Municipalities, providing them with a platform to actively participate in decision-making processes at the grassroots level. The active participation of women as well as their achievements have made the entire nation proud at different platforms, thereby taking the steps by the government to a logical conclusion. Some more and favourable measures are needed at this juncture so that women empowerment is ensured in every sector.
