Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrated amid spectacular activities at Baramulla

Baramulla, Oct 31: As part of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary, National Integration Day was today celebrated across Baramulla district with great enthusiasm and fervor to mark its celebration.
At District Headquarter Baramulla, a series of multifarious activities were organized by District Administration at Showkat Ali Stadium Baramulla to commemorate the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar presided over the day long function while as Additional District Development Commissioner, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf; Superintendent of Police HQ Baramulla, Divya; President MC Baramulla Umar Azhar Kakroo, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Sub Divisional Magistrates besides other district and sectoral officers were present in the programme.
At the outset, ‘Run for Unity’, a short marathon of Police personnels, students and other stakeholders was flagged-off from Akbar Chowk Baramulla. The race was organized by District Administration Baramulla in collaboration with Police, School Education and Sports Departments.
During the event, a national anthem was played followed by a pledge taking ceremony wherein Dr Syed Sehrish administered oath to district officers, Police personnel, NCC cadets and students to dedicate themselves and their services to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
Highlighting the significance of organising the day and paying rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr Sehrish while addressing the gathering elaborated the role of the Indian Independence nationalist in uniting the country. She further asserted that the leader worked on National Integration and devoted his life to the Nation.
Stressing on youth, DC emphasized that there should be the spirit of unification among us to ensure unity, integrity and security of the nation.
Moreover, the DC also highlighted the progress of the district adding that Baramulla has shown inclusive growth in all the sectors during the last couple of years. She said that shifting from Single crop to Double crop, empowering SHGs besides achieving the feat of milk surplus district has been a recent milestone of Baramulla district.
Meanwhile, colorful cultural performances of school children marked the spectacular celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. An exclusive yoga session of students and other stakeholders was also organized besides felicitation ceremony was also held to felicitate dedicated students and spirited NCC cadets who participated in various cultural programmes.
Earlier, a separate segment of various beneficiaries was organized with a theme ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ wherein different enthusiastic progressive farmers of Baramulla shared their success stories in various fields, highlighting the Department’s role in providing financial assistance thereby realizing their dream of self-employment.
