Srinagar, Nov 1: The construction of Ramban viaduct spanning over 1.8 kilometres has been successfully completed, announced Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday.
It consists of 26 spans and employs a combination of concrete and steel girders in its structural design.
The union minister of road transport and highways of India, wrote on social media, “the RamBan Viaduct, built at a cost of Rs 328 crore, is situated on the Udhampur-Ramban section of National Highway-44. This magnificent construction significantly enhances the transportation connectivity in the region, making it an essential part of the country’s highway infrastructure.
“The viaduct’s completion signifies a tremendous step forward for the region’s economic development and further solidifies its position as a top-tier tourist destination. The visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been instrumental in driving this project to success,” wrote Gadkari.
“This achievement is a testament to India’s commitment to creating world-class infrastructure and will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the local economy while making Jammu and Kashmir an even more appealing destination for travelers,” he added. (KNO)
