The commuters are once again facing difficulties in Srinagar as the frequent traffic jams are being witnessed at the vital spots, thereby pushing the people to the wall. It has been observed that the people are remaining stuck in the traffic jams at multiple places, which include the road from Civil Secretariat to Dalgate, Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) and other places, but no measure is being taken from the past couple of days to put an end to the miseries of the people. The regular traffic mess has been pushing the commuters to the wall as it consumes their lot of time to reach their destinations. The situation gets worse especially in morning and evening hours, thus simultaneously putting a responsibility on the shoulders of the government to take immediate and necessary measures to end the frequent traffic mess at these vital spots. At this juncture, the proper plan is needed in this regard to ensure hassle free movement to the commuters. The traffic at some vital junctures needs to be diverted while the unnecessary closure of the U-turns should also be removed so that the snail’s pace of traffic will come to an immediate end. Moreover, the illegal occupation of the roadsides by the street vendors should also be removed at earliest so that more space is provided to the commuters to commute on the roads. The hassle free movement of traffic is necessary so that the people are not forced to face hardships and they could heave a sigh of relief.
