Baramulla, Nov 7: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar Tuesday convened a meeting of all concerned officers to discuss the comprehensive action plan for the smooth conduct of Back to Village Programme (B2V5) in the district.
A threadbare discussion was held on the subject wherein a comprehensive strategy was formulated for conduct of the ambitious outreach programme in the district.
Deliberating on the previous phases of the said programme, Dr Sehrish highlighted the achievements made under different sectors besides redressing the issues of public importance at the doorsteps of the people.
The DC asserted that the B2V5 programme is the result of the admirable feedback of previous editions and is now being conducted primarily to achieve the saturation of services and bridge the existing gap between the government and the people it serves.
Exhorting all departments to have a close coordination, the DC instructed concerned heads to ensure the successful conduct of the programme besides impressed upon them to focus on saturation of self-employment schemes, progress on implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, saturation of welfare schemes including old-aged pension scheme, progress on achievement of deliverables and other related issues of public importance.
Dr Sehrish also instructed officers to organize mega events at subdivision level, regular camps at block and panchayat levels during the B2V programme with a goal to actively engage with the community.
Meanwhile, it was informed that a joint control has been established at District Headquarter Baramulla for the larger interest of the people.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Shabir Ahmad Raina, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Joint Director Planning M Yousuf Rather, SDM Pattan, SDM Uri, SDM Gulmarg and ACD besides other concerned officers.
