Ganderbal, Nov 6: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Monday convened a meeting to review the status of land acquisition for the construction of Z-morh and Zojilla Tunnel projects.
At the outset, DC sought details of all pending land acquisition cases/rent agreements coming under the construction of Z-morh and Zojilla tunnel projects.
While reviewing the status of land acquisition, the DC directed the official of NHIDCL to ensure consent is taken from the land owners for acquiring the land besides all agreements with the land owners shall be notarized at Sub-Registrar Office.
He also directed the concerned to disburse the compensation amount in the cases where final awards have been issued and asked for clearing the pendency with regard to the acquisition of land within the shortest possible time.
The Executing Agencies were asked to work in coordination with the SDM Kangan and Tehsildar Gund for resolving the issues regarding revenue matters.
Meanwhile, the DC also reviewed the preparation of Z-morh tunnel for winters and maintenance of approach roads. He maintained that the district administration has made all preparations for keeping Sonamarg open to tourists during winter and directed the Executing Agency to ensure one tube of tunnel is made functional from 10th of December for emergency purposes during winter.
Earlier, the DC disbursed an amount of Rs 1.07 Crore compensation among the families of Rezan Kullan whose houses and shops were damaged due to the avalanche.
The meeting was attended by SDM Kangan, Javaid Ahmad Rather; Tehsildar Gund, Executive Director, NHIDCL (projects) and officials of Executive Agencies.
