Budgam, Nov 16: Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Santosh Kumar Vaidya, Thursday chaired “Back To Village Phase V” programme at Qazibagh panchayat in Budgam block.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary inspected stalls, set up by various departments to showcase their products and create awareness on various welfare schemes for the general public.
During the inspection, Santosh Vaidya reviewed implementation of various schemes and interacted with the beneficiaries seeking their feedback.
He also chaired a Bal Sabha at Middle School Zoorigund and interacted with local students.
Principal Secretary took stock of progress on developmental works particularly raised and discussed during last Back to Village programmes in panchayat halqa Qazibagh.
During public interaction, Santosh Vaidya listened to the demands of locals of Qazibagh, Zoorigund, Thukarpora and other adjoining villages of the Panchayat halqa. He assured them that all their issues and concerns would be taken up with the concerned for an early redressal.
Principal Secretary said that the UT Government is committed towards robust development of Panchayats ensuring prompt redressal of the issues of general public through programmes like ‘Back to Village’, under which the government itself reaches out to the general public to their doorsteps.
He emphasized speedy work completion of all ongoing developmental works in the area while asking the executing agencies for expeditious execution of their respective works.
Later, Principal Secretary visited the playfield at Qazibagh and inaugurated series of sports events there. He also held interaction with the budding sportspersons and encouraged them to accord complete focus on games for brighter future.
On the Occasion, Santosh Vaidya felicitated the winners who participated in Tug of War, kabaddi and sack race sports activities.
Among others, ADDC Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak, JD Planning, ACD, CEO, Executive Engineers from different engineering wings, BDO, DYSS, AD Handicrafts, BMO and other concerned officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
