Rajouri, Nov 17: An unidentified terrorist was killed in an encounter that broke out in Behrote top area of Budhal village of Rajouri district on Friday, officials said.
An official said that a cordon and search operation was launched at Behrote top area of Budhal village in the morning after information regarding suspicious movement was received. He said that during the CASO, the contact was established with the hiding terrorists.
A police spokesman in a statement issued here said that based on specific information, a joint operation was launched by Rajouri Police, Army, Special Forces and CRPF in the general area Behrote top, Budhal.
“While moving towards the targeted house, the terrorist started firing on the operation parties from inside. The exchange of fire continued for some time and during the ensuing operation, one terrorist was killed,” the statement said, adding that one AK 47- two magazines- three Chinese grenades- five Pouches were recovered.
A case under FIR number 128/2023 under section 307, 120B, 121, 122 IPC; 7/25/27 Arms Act; 13/16/18/23 UAPA Act 3/4 Explosive Substance Act has been registered at Police Station Budhal of District Rajouri, police said.
“The identity of the killed terrorist is being ascertained. Moreover, the area has been kept under cordon and search operation is going on,” the spokesman said.
