Prevent fire incidents

With the onset of winters in Kashmir, the people have started using the heating gadgets in order to keep themselves warm, but the use of such gadgets has been proving detrimental for them at the same time as the cases of fire incidents are usually witnessing a surge during the period of winter months. In the last couple of days, several fire incidents were reported in Srinagar and other areas of the Valley where a huge loss to the properties were witnessed. At the world famous Dal Lake, three persons were charred to death while several houseboats and the residential sheds were damaged in the fire incident. On Sunday, a massive fire broke out at Maisuma area where two residential houses were reduced to ashes. On Tuesday, a departmental store was damaged in the old City area while a guest house was gutted in the fire incident near Lal Ded hospital here in Srinagar, indicating a rise in the fire incidents. It is believed that the use of heating gadgets is one among the main causes behind the surge in fire incidents, thus the people while using these gadgets should behave with responsibility and ensure that all these gadgets are used judiciously. It is the time when the people should take care of these things properly so that the burden on the fire and emergency services during the winter period is eased and the loss of lives and the properties is prevented in the future.
