Sopore, Dec 11: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore SA Raina on Monday directed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Municipal Council (MC) to initiate action against those throwing the garbage in an open, which causes inconvenience to the general public.
The Additional DC Sopore has passed a strict direction to CEO Municipal Council Sopore to take cognizance into the matter and initiate action against the erring people especially shopkeepers, who are found involved in throwing the garbage in an open.
The directions came following officials’ visit to the town during an intervening night of Sunday-Monday. He said while overlooking the scenario of the town, the Additional DC Sopore expressed dismay as heaps of garbage and other material which causes inconvenience were seen across the roads of Sopore.
“The heaps of garbage have become a public nuisance thus inviting the flock of dogs around, which is adding woes and threat to the lives of the general public,” Raina said.
CEO Municipal Council, Tariq Ahmed Reshi said that an action will be taken against the people who are found involved in the garbage throwing.
He further stated that they try their best to make town a free from garbage; however, there might be few elements, who are spoiling their efforts, but they won’t go unpunished. (KNO)
