The initiatives taken by the Government of India (GoI) are turning out a fruitful exercise in terms of making visible changes with regard to transforming the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir’s development scenario as well as giving people an access to the schemes launched by the government for the wellbeing of the poor. In one such initiative— Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the administration in Jammu and Kashmir has brought much relief to the people by making the people aware of different schemes and bringing governance at their doorsteps. It has been a motive of the incumbent government to bring the governance at the doorsteps of the people and thus simultaneously Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra like initiatives are the right steps in the right directions. One cannot even imagine the better ways and means of bringing respite to the people as the people through this initiative were able to avail the welfare schemes including include Ayushman Bharat, PMJAY, PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission, PM Awas Yojana (Rural), PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, PM Kisan Saman, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), PM Poshan Abhiyan, Har Ghar Jal-Jal Jeevan Mission, Survey of villages and mapping with improvised technology in village areas (SVAMITVA), Jan Dhan Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, PM PRANAM, Nano Fertilizer among others of the government. In such a way, the people are being shown the right path to make their future bright and come out of poverty as the government in Jammu & Kashmir is aspiring and making efforts to ensure zero-poverty in the Union Territory. Therefore, the pace of such events under VBSY needs to be accelerated further to ensure that the vision behind this initiative is achieved.
