Keep Kashmir connected

The back-to-back road accidents, especially along the National Highway has become a major concern for the Jammu and Kashmir administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as the newly appointed Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo has asked the concerned authorities to ensure zero tolerance towards violations. The concerned traffic department and police have been acting tough against the norm violations, especially after the fatal accident that claimed 39 lives and left many people injured as well. The government since then has tightened the noose against the traffic norm violations, especially along the National Highway. In the recent, a top police officer has mentioned that five cases have been registered against the traffic norm violations while four drivers have also been arrested. Besides, 78 vehicles were seized and 2032 challaned in different Motor Vehicles Act Violations. Following the fatal road accidents, the government has seemingly resolved to ensure there is no traffic violation on the roads as these violations are among the main factors behind the rising number of accidents. Therefore, in order to implement the directions of zero tolerance towards traffic violations, it is imperative to launch the massive drives across all the districts, especially along the busiest roads so that a major change would be ensured in terms of bringing down the fatal road accidents. The drive against traffic norm violations should not be kept confined to the National highway only, but must be extended to other districts as well in every city and town so that the motive behind these actions will be achieved.
