Gulmarg abuzz post snowfall, winter activities resume

Srinagar, Dec 19: Following the recent snowfall, various winter activities have resumed at Gulmarg, which is enthralling the visitors visiting the famed destination in north Kashmir.
The recent snowfall in Gulmarg has turned the high-altitude skiing resort into a winter wonderland, which is subsequently attracting crowds of tourists and locals alike.
The snowfall has draped Gulmarg in a pristine white coat, transforming the landscape into a breath-taking spectacle.
Now world-famous ski resort is now bustling with activities as locals and tourists alike flock to the region to experience the winter activities at Gulmarg.
From slides to skiing and snowboarding, various winter activities have resumed at the destination.
“Winter activities, which include sledding, skiing and snow ATKs have been restored in Gulmarg. All the sledge owners are offering services to the tourists from the last two days. At phase1 of the Gondola, tourists enjoy skiing and snowboarding,” said Mohammad Saleem Dar, a sled owner.
Tourists from across the country and beyond are arriving in numbers at Gulmarg to partake in a myriad of winter activities.
“I visited Kashmir last week and there wasn’t snow anywhere. Fortunately, it snowed in Gulmarg few days back and we rescheduled our trip to Gulmarg to enjoy snow activities,” said Priya Mehta, a tourists from West Bengal
Local businesses, including ski rental shops and cozy cafes, are experiencing a surge in visitors eager to experience the thrill of skiing and snowboarding in the freshly fallen snow.
“The snowfall has been a blessing for Gulmarg, and we are thrilled to see so many people enjoying the winter activities here. The atmosphere is vibrant, and the feedback from visitors has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Shabir Ahmed, a local business owner.
Pertinently, 15 lakh tourists have visited Gulmarg till November. Officials are anticipating the count to reach 16 lakh by the year end.
Last year, 15.5 lakh tourists visited Gulmarg. This year 1097983 domestic tourists, 395873 locals and 9750 foreigners visited Gulmarg.
