DC Kulgam reviews arrangements for celebration of Republic day

Kulgam, Jan 1: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Monday reviewed the arrangements for the celebrations of Republic Day function 2024, in a meeting of officers held at the mini-secretariat, here.
The DC on the occasion instructed the officers to put in place elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of this National function.
Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting on arrangements to be put in place at the venue including security, seating, car parking, transportation and illumination of buildings, refreshments besides accommodation for the participants.
It was decided that the main function will be held at DPL Kulgam and during the main function the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest followed by the parade comprising contingents of JKP, CRPF, NCC, police band, women contingent, NCC and schoolchildren.
The DC issued strict instructions to all concerned departments to make advance arrangements for smooth conduct of Republic Day celebration.
The concerned departments were asked to make heating arrangements keeping in view the prevailing cold weather conditions, for trouble-free rehearsals and final day celebration.
The DC directed the concerned officers and agencies to maintain close coordination while making arrangements for the national function.
KPDCL was instructed to ensure smooth power supply and put standby DG sets at the venue.
The Municipality and Power department were also instructed to illuminate the main buildings in the town.
The DC also instructed the concerned to arrange colorful cultural programmes.
Executive Engineer MED was instructed to ensure men and machinery in ready mode to ensure timely snow clearance in case of any snow spell.
All the heads of the departments and institutions in the district were also directed to unfurl the National Flag in their offices and institutions.
ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; ADC, Vikar Ahmad Giri; DPO, Abdul Rashid Dass; JDP, Zahid Sajjad; ACD, Mohammad Imran; SDM Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan; GM DIC, Bashir Ahmad; Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B, CEO, CMO, Officers from Police, Army, CRPF and others concerned attended the meeting.
