DC Budgam presides over Mega Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra program

Budgam, Jan 6: Mega Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), program was Saturday conducted at Sports Stadium Budgam.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo presided over the program, inspected beneficiary camps installed by various departments to showcase their products and raise awareness generation regarding different schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated all concerned officers and officials for successfully conducting Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), program across all 296 panchayats and for its enthusiastic ongoing conduct in urban areas of the district.
The mega VBSY function witnessed impressive gathering from all local wards of Town Budgam.
After holding flower ceremony of the VBSY Van and Izband ceremony, the DC also participated in Sankalp pledge on the occasion.
The DC felicitated some achievers for their exemplary work in different fields and distributed sanction letters, cheques and keys to beneficiaries under different welfare schemes.
Deliberating on the ongoing developmental activities and successful conduct of VBSY across the district, the DC said that it is the committed objective of the district administration to accelerate developmental projects visibly on the ground.
He said that under the direction of Hon’ble LG , the District administration is committed to ensure all major infrastructural projects are completed in the shortest possible time.
He said among other major projects, various PHCs were dedicated to public, installation of Mobile Network towers at tourist places and various other uncovered areas, work on PRIs Accommodation at Sheikhpora, Integrated Lavatory, Wuzukhana complex at along with two public Parks at Charar-i-Sharief have been completed, work on New Bus Terminal, Chadoora is in progress and likely to be completed by first half of this year, work on State of the Art New District Hospital Budgam at Reshipora and establishment of Cluster University in Budgam is a key focus area of the district administration.
He also appreciated concerned for timely construction of access infrastructure to Bharava Cave of Shri Abhinav Gupt ji at Beerwah which he said has become as a major tourist attraction and has opened up employment opportunities for locals of Beerwah.
The DC further added that upgradation and renovation of sports Stadium Budgam, road development and wall painting from Humhama to Mirgund, drain construction at Humhama, installation of 1000 street lights in Budgam Town and are also other projects carried out in last 4- 5 months in the district.
He said various other projects including improvement at Sub- District Hospital Chadoora and PHC Kralpora are being worked out by District Administration Budgam and work on the same shall be taken up for execution on priority.
During the nationwide outreach initiative aimed at informing and empowering citizens about the Centre’s flagship schemes, a series of activities including skits, quiz competitions, cultural events, sports events, singing of Swacchta song and other related programmes were also held on the occasion.
The participants welcomed VBSY Van with much enthusiasm. Hon’ble Prime Minister’s message and other movies were screened to generate awareness on Central Government’s initiatives for public.
ADDC Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak, CPO, ACD and other District/ sectorial officers were also present on the occasion.
