Ganderbal, Jan 18: The stretch from Wayil to Sarbal in Sonamarg, in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, is witnessing a surge in tourist selfies, with the scenic Nallah Sindh providing a captivating backdrop.
Positioned 40 to 50 kilometres from the summer capital Srinagar, Ganderbal has evolved into a standout destination, offering travellers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural charm.
While Manasbal, Naranag and the renowned tourist destination Sonamarg continue to attract visitors from distant states, it is the enchanting sites along Nallah Sindh that are stealing the limelight, according to the locals of the district.
Wayil Bridge, Wussan Bye Pass, Gund 21, Gadribal, Mammar, Yechama Thune, Gagangheer, Hung, Sonamarg and Sarbal, among many others, have transformed into sought-after locations for capturing enduring travel memories, they said.
Locals of Ganderbal are actively advocating for government intervention to further enhance the scenic beauty along Nallah Sindh. “Such improvements will not only elevate the tourism experience but also create opportunities for economic upliftment, particularly benefiting the unemployed yet educated youth in the region,” they said.
Preserving and promoting these picturesque sites will contribute to the overall prosperity of the Kashmir Valley, locals stressed.
