Jammu, Jan 20: Former deputy chief minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Tuesday said that he is not associated with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Talking to reporters, Baig, who attended the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally today in Jammu, said that he is not affiliated with PDP nor would join it.
“No, I am not affiliated with PDP nor would I approach them (for joining). If they would ask me to join, I would tell them to prefer national interest rather than political and personal benefits,” he said.
Baig had last month claimed that he had never quit PDP.”I didn’t leave the PDP. I was inactive for quite some time but I’m still associated with the party. The relation between me and PDP is like a single soul,” Baig told reporters in Bijbhera on January 7, 2013.
He had even said that his two daughters are the biggest supporters of Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti.
Even Mehbooba Mufti had welcomed Baig’s re-entry in PDP and termed him as elder brother.
“Sometimes, some things happen within the family. But we should forget everything for the good of the coming times,” Mehbooba had said.
