Srinagar, Mar 1: Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam on Friday said to have attached a property belonging to a notorious drug peddler in the district.
“Police attached a property (Single-storied residential house worth approx. Rs 10.5 lacs) measuring 916.75 Sq ft belonging to notorious drug peddler namely Nisar Ahmad Khanday Son of Bashir Ahmad Khanday resident of Nipora,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with a case under FIR number 39/2023 under section 8/15 of NDPS Act of PS Qazigund, police said.
The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation conducted by Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police to combat the drug menace. Locals of the area hailed the initiative of Police, police said.
