The claims of ensuring adequate electricity in the month of Ramadhan has once again fallen flat on the ground as the people here have been complaining of irregular power cuts, especially at the time of Sehri. The consumers have complained that they are being forced to have Sehri and Iftari under darkness, which puts a question mark over the claims of the administration with regard to ensuring adequate electricity in the holy month of Ramadhan. One fails to understand why the consumers are being pushed to the wall, especially in the peak hours. It seems that the meetings that have been held before the arrival of the sacred month are just an eyewash as the ground situation has most of the times remained contrary to whatever the people are being promised. The time when people have Sehri and Iftari are the two most important periods in the month of Ramadhan and snatching the electricity at this crucial period has been leaving the common people here to lurch at large. Such a situation needs to be controlled as the month of blessings has just arrived. There is a need to make sure that the people get adequate electricity especially at the time of Sehri and Iftari so that they will not face hardships. The concerned department must be directed to take elaborate measures and arrangements in this regard to ensure that the consumers get adequate electricity in this month and the hassle-free prayers as well as the observance of fast is ensured in the Valley.
