Rising Cyber threats in J&K

The traffic scenario at multiple places in Srinagar, especially in the commercial Hub Lal Chowk and its adjacent areas has been giving tough times to the commuters mostly in the peak hours. There has been no end to the traffic congestion while the situation has worsened further after the government ordered the reopening of educational institutions earlier this month after the three-month-long winter vacations. Amidst the prevalent situation, the traffic is expected to push the people to the wall in the coming days as the Muslim festival; Eid-ul-Fitr is inching closer. In case the situation remains unchanged, the people will have to face tremendous hardships after next week. Keeping in view the bustling markets and rush of the people ahead of Eid, the traffic department as well as the other concerned departments should join hands to come up with the special arrangements and diversions that would pave way for smooth and hassle free vehicular movement to the commuters and thus simultaneously help the shoppers to heave a sigh of relief. In this regard, the authorities besides coming up with the traffic advisory, should ensure that the roads and roadsides are not occupied during the upcoming days for the wellbeing of the shoppers. The occupation of the roads would add to the misery of the people and thus it is imperative to come up with stringent measures in this regard and ensure that no street vendor or shopkeeper would occupy the roadside. The street vendors should be allowed to install their carts at the designated places only.
