Srinagar, Apr 14: Police in Baramulla have arrested four gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities along the roadside at Goshbugh Pattan, a police party headed by SHO PS Pattan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan raided the specific spot and apprehended 04 gamblers & recovered stake money of Rs 4,550/- & playing cards from their possession. The accused have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Akram, Mohd Yousuf Dar son of Mohd Abdullah both residents of Tangpora, Khursheed Ahmad Punoo son of Gh Ahmad & Shafi Ahmad Baba son of Bashir Ahmad both residents of Gohal Chakoo. They have been shifted to PS Pattan where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
