Budgam, Apr 20: The Election Expenditure Observer (EO) for 2-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, Sambit Mishra Saturday convened a at Conference Hall BUDGAM to review preparations for the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections in District Budgam.
District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Akshay Labroo and SSP Budgam, AL-Tahir Gillani were also present in the meeting.
At the outset, the EO held interaction with District Expenditure Monitoring Team, all AROs and Nodal Officers to review the efforts of the administration in ensuring free, transparent and peaceful conduct of elections in the district.
He called for proper maintaining of expenditure records, truthful accounts, facilitation of candidates, legal expenditure within the permissible limit and expenditure booking by the contesting candidates as per the ECI guidelines.
Mishra stressed on continuous social media monitoring viz. paid news to avoid any media related violations during the election process in all assembly segments of both Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency.
He instructed officers to work in coordination and with most integrity for free, fair and smooth conduct of elections.
While briefing the chair, the DEO Budgam deliberated upon the overall preparations to ensure level playing field for all stakeholders to ensure free, fair and smooth conduct of elections in the district.
He said that all Election Commission of India guidelines shall be implemented in letter and spirit in the district.
Nodal Officer Election Expenditure Monitoring, Budgam, Showkat Ali Rather through a power point presentation, presented district profile and deliberated on overall preparations.
He also shared details about the formation and effective monitoring of teams including Video Surveillance Teams, Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Teams, Video Viewing Teams, Accounting Teams, Assistant Expenditure Observers, Nodal Officer Expenditure and Expenditure Observer constituted to monitor expenditures of the candidates contesting the Elections and regulate and check Model Code of Conduct violations per the laid guidelines of ECI.
ADDC, ADC, all AROs, Nodal Officers and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
