Chief Secretary reviews preparations for Independence Day celebration

Srinagar, Apr 25: Former cabinet minister and Apni Party’s Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir stated on Thursday that permanent peace is imperative for the prosperity and development of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that those who are enemies of peace are, in fact, the enemies of Jammu and Kashmir and its people.
Ghulam Hassan Mir made these remarks while addressing a pary convention in Satura area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The convention was a part of the party’s ongoing poll campaign for the LS elections.
In his speech, Ghulam Hassan Mir urged people to support the Apni Party in order to shape a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir, and its people.
He said, “Apni Party has a clear vision for a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir. Unlike traditional political parties, we do not believe in unachievable goals; rather, we focus on what is attainable. Prosperity, well-being, and development in J&K are very much attainable, and the Apni Party has a complete roadmap that will lead the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the path of sustainable prosperity. All we need is your complete support.”
He further said, “The traditional parties kept people busy with misleading and deceptive slogans like ‘Raishumar’, ‘Autonomy’, ‘Self-rule’, and so on for more than 70 years. They did not focus on development in Jammu and Kashmir. They guided our youth down the path of destruction, and their politics led them toward jails and graveyards. Apni Party has been established to change this scenario for a positive and better future. We believe in truthful and positive politics. Ours is a new party, and this party is joining the poll fray for the first time. I request you to give this party a chance, and we will never disappoint you.”
Emphasising on the importance of economic prosperity, Ghulam Hassan Mir said, “The entire world ris driven by the economy. . For the well-being of the people, we need economic prosperity, which will come through investments. However, outside investment is not possible unless we have permanent peace here. Peace is essential for growing our tourism industry and attracting investments across various sectors. Therefore, I urge people, especially the youth, to contribute their efforts to peace and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.”
He promised that once Apni Party gets public mandate, it will ensure that the Gujjar and Bakerwal community gets its rights to the forest land on which they live and upon which their livelihood depends.
He further said, “We are committed to the people, and when our government comes to power, we will increase marriage assistance for women to one lakh rupees, up from the existing assistance of Rs 50,000. Additionally, widows’ and old age pensions will be raised from the current Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 per beneficiary. Furthermore, we will provide 500 units of electricity free to consumers in the Valley during the winter and 300 units in the summer. In Jammu, 500 units of electricity will be provided free during the summer and 300 units in the winter. Moreover, if we are in government, we will provide four gas cylinders free to every household annually.”
The prominent party leaders who were present on the occasion included Senior Leader and Former legislator Yawar Dilawar Mir, District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Provincial Secretary Nazir Ahmad Dailgami, DDC and Provincial Secretary for the Youth Wing Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, Chief Coordinator Dr Talat Majeed, Youth President Pulwama Syed Tajalah Andrabi, DDC Ms Meema Ji, DDC Ms Mansha Ji, Chowdhary Nadeem, Chowdhary Shabir, Mohammad Ayoub Bandh, Arshar Ahmad, former Municipal Vice President Tral Nazir Ahmad Ganai, and others.
