Keep Kashmir connected

A gruesome incident has once again surfaced in Kashmir where a woman was killed by the self-styled faith healer. In north Kashmir’s Chogul area of Handwara, a woman was axed to death by a self-styled faith healer, sending shock waves across the valley. This is not for the first time that any faith healer has been found committing the crimes, but several incidents have surfaced in the past as well, which calls for an immediate action against such faith healers, who are indulging in such practices and later committing crimes. Though the Police have taken cognizance of the incident by arresting the accused faith healer, but the fact remains that the religious organizations should join hands at this juncture to identify all these self-styled faith healers, who are out to hoodwink the people and are later indulging in the commission of crimes. The people should get aware about the religious teachings and should refrain themselves from believing in the fake faith healers, who are out to harm the religion only and create a wedge between the people belonging to different sects. However, at this juncture, the local community has to play a key role in making the people understand about the reality of the fake faith healers so that such incidents can be prevented in the future and the religious organizations will united take measures to expose the self-styled faith healers, who are trying to lure the people by one context or the other.
