In what could be termed as the favorable decision for the tourists, the government has made it clear that those who will be found charging exorbitant rates from the visitors will be booked under the law. The decision is much-needed as the people, who have been visiting here from different parts of the country and outside the country as well, have raised the issue of overcharging by the tourism players multiple times, but no action was taken against them, thereby encouraging others to loot the tourists here at different picturesque destinations. Jammu & Kashmir can be the most visited places in the country, but some decisions and measures are important to keep the destination away from those, who are hell-bent to ruin the tourism sector here. The government has clearly stated that the authorities will de-register those vehicles whose drivers are found indulging in unethical practice and penalize them. Besides, saying that the tourists are our guests, and service providers have a responsibility to foster hospitality. To make sure that the things are settled well on the ground, the decisional administration as well as Tourism department top ranks must hold deliberations with the tourism players here so that the concrete measures are taken and the tourists are made aware about the rates and other related things. Joining hands at this juncture would help the government to end the issue of overcharging here, therefore the coordination in this regard should be done at the apt time so that the tourists could heave a sigh of relief.
