Pulwama, May 23: A vital Sangam-Pulwama road in Pulwama district is lying in dilapidated condition causing inconvenience to people.
Locals from different areas of south Kashmir said that Sangam-Pulwama road is one of the most important roads connecting hundreds of villages with Pulwama town, National Highway and other areas.
Locals from the Naina area said that road was fully macadamised almost five years ago and since then only patches are being done.
They said that the road is now full of potholes and requires immediate attention of authorities.
Sameer Ahmad, a resident of Litter area said the road developed cracks at several spots and is currently lying in dilapidated condition.
He said that the road has vital importance and is connecting dozens of villages of many districts with each but it needs immediate attention of higher ups.
Hilal Ahmad another local said that authorities have been macadamizing some patches every year but it needs to be macadamized fully as its condition is very bad now.
Locals said that this road is very important as it connects SIDCO Lassipora with National Highway at Sangam and as it is connecting SIDCO, it has a very heavy rush and this road must be given priority.
They added that the issue was brought into the notice of concerned authorities several times to no avail.
They sought attention of LG Manoj Sinha, DC Pulwama and other officials in this regard.
