Keep Kashmir connected

While the heat wave in outside states of the country has intensified, the Kashmir Valley is witnessing a rise in the footfall of tourists as according to the reports, the arrival has increased to a large extent as the people in the outside states are presently enjoying the vacations announced by the respective governments. The increase in the footfall can be gauged by the reports wherein the houseboat owners have claimed that all their houseboats at the famous Dal Lake are presently jam-packed and even the people have already booked the houseboats, who are scheduled to visit here a month later. Kashmir valley in particular is witnessing an unprecedented rise in visitors this summer. The valley’s allure is not only its natural beauty but also its upgraded connectivity and modern amenities that make it an ideal spot for remote work. Hotels and homestays in these regions have adapted to cater to the needs of digital nomads, providing reliable internet connections and comfortable workspaces. Since the flow of tourists is increasing with each passing day, the people at the helm need to ensure that the directions passed by the government recently should be adhered to in letter and spirit. The government has already made it clear that those who will be found charging exorbitant rates from the visitors will be booked under the law. The decision should be implemented in letter and spirit so that the people visiting here from different parts of the country or elsewhere could heave a sigh of relief.
