Speaker chairs All Party cum BAC meeting ahead of Autumn Session

Srinagar, May 27: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Monday thanked people for voting in large numbers in the three Parliamentary seats of Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag-Rajouri.
Sagar said the impressive turn out in the just concluded elections has again shown that people of J&K have embraced democracy and reasserted their stake in government formation. “This significant participation of people in elections is a telling testament to the robust democratic spirit and civic engagement of the people in the region. Given the impressive turn out, it is important to hold the assembly polls as soon as possible. This must be a priority for the next government in Delhi, and could be the first step to restoration of statehood as well.”
He also said that people have emphatically rejected anti kashmir forces through the use of their ballot in the polls. “The huge turnout is a clear demonstration of the peoples’ rejection of the anti J&K steps taken since Aug 05 2019. The vote was against those who have taken away our rights and dignity. Vote was against tariff hike, against unemployment, against lies, against deceit and against the politics of hate.”
