Amarnath Yatra: DG Rural Sanitation inspects sanitation facilities at Baltal Base camp

Ganderbal, Jun 5: Director General (DG) Rural Sanitation, Jammu and Kashmir, Anoo Malhotra on Wednesday visited Baltal Base camp, Neelgrath and Domail to review the sanitation facilities on Baltal Base camp to Holy Cave for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2024.
The inspection was conducted to ensure the seamless execution of sanitation arrangements and to guarantee a hygienic environment for pilgrims.
During the inspection, DG directed all concerned agencies to expedite their work, emphasizing the importance of completing sanitation infrastructure on time. She stressed the need for stringent adherence to quality standards and efficient utilization of resources to meet the demands of the yatra.
Further, emphasis was laid on the need for relentless efforts to maintain and enhance sanitation facilities on the axis.
All stakeholders were urged to work collaboratively to ensure a clean and hygienic environment throughout the pilgrimage, prioritizing the health and well-being of all pilgrims.
The visit and directives were expected to boost the sanitation infrastructure being developed at Baltal Base camp, setting a high standard for cleanliness and hygiene during the pilgrimage.
The DG’s proactive approach reflects the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir administration to provide a safe and comfortable experience for all pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024.
Among others, the Officer was accompanied by ACD Ganderbal, BDO, Representatives of Sanitation agencies and other stakeholders.
