Srinagar, Jun 11: Tourism Department Kashmir Tuesday organised a two-day adventure programme “South Kashmir Adventure” to explore and promote the stunning landscapes and cultural heritage of South Kashmir.
This adventure program includes a diverse range of activities designed to attract thrill-seekers and culture enthusiasts alike.
The programme started with an array of outdoor pursuits, including cycling , ATV mountain biking and offroading started from Verinag in south Kashmir.
As per the officials, offbeat destinations including Daksum, Sinthan Top will be covered by the rally, which will finally culminate at Kokernag in south Kashmir.
“The rally was flagged off today from Verinag. Various offbeat destinations of south Kashmir including Daksum, Sinthan Top and Kokernag will be covered in this two day event. The idea behind this event is to promote the south Kashmir destinations which are offbeat and explored by less people,” an official said.
In addition to the adventure sports, the program also features cultural events that highlight the rich traditions and heritage of the region. “A cultural evening will be held in Kokernag on Wednesday after participants complete the expedition,” he said.
The “South Kashmir Adventure” program is part of the Kashmir Tourism Department’s broader efforts to boost tourism in the area by showcasing its potential as a premier destination for adventure sports and cultural experiences.
Participants from various parts of the valley displayed remarkable enthusiasm in engaging in diverse activities such as cycling, mountain biking, ATV riding and off-roading. “The event is not only aimed to encourage adventure seekers but also advocate astro-tourism in the region,” the official said.
