GMC Anantnag accredited with 4 additional PG DNB seats in General Surgery

Anantnag, Jun 12: The Department of General Surgery at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag has received accreditation for four additional Post Graduate DNB seats from the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi.
This new development brings the total number of DNB seats in the General Surgery Department to six, a statement issued reads.
Dr. Nazir Wani, Head of the Department of General Surgery, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating that the addition of four more seats will enhance patient care delivery and bolster the academic and research activities within the department.
“Our department is actively engaged in performing a wide range of surgeries, including trauma surgeries, general surgeries, urological procedures, gastrointestinal surgeries, and oncosurgeries, among others,” Dr. Wani elaborated.
Prof. (Dr.) Rukhsana Najeeb, Principal of GMC Anantnag, congratulated the Department of General Surgery on this milestone. She emphasized that the addition of these four DNB seats will contribute significantly to the overall growth of the institution. “With these new additions, the total number of DNB seats across various clinical and non-clinical departments at GMC Anantnag has risen to 68 for the current session,” Prof. Najeeb announced.
Dr Tajali Shora, DNB Cordinator GMC Anantnag, also expressed his satisfaction with the new accreditation, reiterating the college’s commitment to providing high-quality medical education and patient care.
This accreditation marks a significant step forward for GMC Anantnag, reinforcing its dedication to medical excellence and comprehensive healthcare services. (KNO)
