Pulwama, Jun 13: In a significant move to bolster cyber security, a Cyber Crime Cell Unit has been established in Pulwama district.
This initiative aims to assist the local populace in combating cyber frauds, crimes, and bullying.
Talking to reporters, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pulwama, P D Nitya highlighted the unit’s dedication to the people of Pulwama.
She emphasized that the cyber cell will play a crucial role in addressing and mitigating cyber-related threats and crimes within the district.
The inauguration of the Cyber Crime Cell Unit was done by the Director General of Police (DGP) on June 8th, during a public grievance darbar, she said.
She said that her department is committed to addressing public concerns and enhancing community safety, adding that the cell will be headed by a DySP rank officer and efforts will be made to solve the cyber crimes as soon as possible.
The cyber related crimes are on rise and people must report cyber crimes, frauds and other such issues immediately as during the initial stage it remains easy to reach to the root of the crime.
Residents of Pulwama are encouraged to reach out to the Cyber Crime Cell if they encounter any threats or problems related to cyber activities.
The unit can be contacted at +919541943103 for assistance. This establishment of the Cyber Crime Cell Unit represents a proactive step in ensuring the digital safety and security of Pulwama’s citizens, reflecting the police department’s commitment to protecting the community from the evolving landscape of cyber threats.
She said that people facing such issues shouldn’t feel shy in reporting such things as it can happen with anyone, adding that 36 complaints have been received so far.
