ADC finalises arrangements for Yoga Day celebrations at Baramulla

Baramulla, Jun 15: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Baramulla, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina chaired a meeting Saturday to review the preparations for the celebration of International Yoga Day in the district, scheduled for June 21.
During the meeting, it was decided that the Grand Yoga Event for Baramulla district will be held at Showkat Ali Sports Stadium, Government Degree College for Boys, Baramulla.
The ADC emphasized the significance of Yoga Day and called for coordinated efforts among officers to ensure the event’s success. The Police Department was instructed to make all the necessary security arrangements at the venue, while the Traffic Police (Rural) was asked to deploy sufficient personnel to manage traffic and parking facilities.
Meanwhile, the Chief Education Officer has been assigned the duty of inviting and mobilizing participants for the event. The Ayush Department and District Youth Services Department will provide Yoga instructors to demonstrate the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) and yoga mats for the participants at the venue.
Furthermore, the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Baramulla has been directed to ensure the cleanliness of the venue while as the Chief Medical Officer Baramulla will deploy a critical care ambulance along with medical and paramedical staff at the venue to handle any emergencies.
The Power Development Department (PDD) was entrusted to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity, while the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department will arrange for sufficient drinking water at the venue.
Additionally, the District Information Office was instructed for the installation of Public address system at the venue, and running live streaming of the event on the social media handles.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer MC Baramulla, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Office, and Officers from the Police Department, Traffic Police, PDD, PHE, Ayush besides other concerned departments.
