Srinagar, Jun 20: The enemies of peace and humanity are making their last effort to destabilise the peace in J&K, but no stone will be left unturned to teach the adversaries of peace in UT a lesson, Prime Minister Narendera Modi said in Srinagar on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering of young start-ups at SKICC on the banks of Dal Lake here, the Prime Minister said that the enemies of Aman (peace) and insaniyat (humanity) are making a last effort to disrupt the peace in J&K. The PM, however, didn’t name any person of the country in his speech.
“We have taken serious note of the terrorist attacks (in Jammu). Home Minister (Amit Shah) took a review in Delhi and also got the feedback from J&K officials. I assure you that we will not leave any stone unturned to teach a lesson to the enemies of peace in J&K,” Modi said.
Jammu region recently saw a spate of terrorist attacks pushing the security grid of the J&K into a huddle. J&K LG Manoj Sinha chaired a series of security review meetings including the Unified Command Meeting to chalk out a strategy to counter terrorists. The Union Home Minister also chaired a high level security review meeting on J&K in Delhi where National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and top security officials from UT participated.
The PM said that J&K’s new generation will live in peace. “We will strengthen the people’s resolve to live in peace,” he said.
Modi said that the prevailing peace in J&K is the outcome of Centre’s 10 year hard work. “I feel contented to see youth playing till late evening at Lal Chowk. Sports cars manoeuvring on the boulevard overlooking Dal Lake was the most liked event of Indian citizens,” he said.
Last year, Modi said 2 Crore tourists visited J&K and this year the number is going to surge further. “I recently met the people who participated in the G-20 grand event in Srinagar (in May last Year). They are all praise about the hospitality of people in Kashmir,” he said.
