Srinagar, Jun 24: The Health and Medical Education (H&ME) department has ordered the attachment of Block Medical Sallar after the complaints from the employees.
As per the order issued by the Health and Medical Education Department, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Sofi, Medical Officer SDH Pahalgam has been given charge of BMO Sallar in addition to his own duties.
“On the basis of the preliminary enquiry report submitted by the Director, Health Services, Kashmir based on the news item published in the Kashmir News Observer (KNO) and the complaint filed by the employees of Block Sallar, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Block Medical Officer, Sallar is hereby attached with the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir with immediate effect,” reads the order.
“Consequent upon this, the charge of the post of Block Medical Officer, Sallar is assigned to Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Sofi, Medical Officer, SDH, Pahalgam in addition to his own duties till further orders,” it reads further.
Notably, an inquiry was initiated by the CMO Anantnag following the staff’s complaints.
The inquiry team recorded statements from witnesses and submitted a detailed report to the CMO, which was later forwarded to the Director of Health Services Kashmir.
The inquiry report had highlighted various instances of misconduct, including verbal abuse of staff, favouritism in duty assignments and transfers, misuse of healthcare funds, and manipulation of duty rosters.
